Running Out of Space
I have always been someone who needed their space. I guess I get it from my Mom. Growing up I really enjoyed the time I had to myself in my room or car listening to my own music, writing in my journal or reading. When I went to college I was overjoyed when my room mate ended up renting the apartment, but never living there. It was perfect. I paid for a shared room, but I got my own. I had all the space I thought I needed. My own room, my own car, my own rules, my own everything.
Then, I became a mom. There is no such thing as your own space when you are a mom. Now, I am a pregnant mom. A 7 month pregnant mom, who is wondering what it was like to have my own room, my own car, my own body. It is funny how things change.
Tyler and I had a talk today about how it is important to enjoy every stage of life for what it is. We talked about how he should enjoy school, studying, sports, church and the joys of being a dad. We talked about how I should enjoy this time with Emree, being pregnant, having a lot of free time, church and just the joys of being a mom. Life will change before we know it and we don't want to miss out on what we are currently experiencing.
That being said, I am enjoying it. In fact, I love it. I am just realizing that it will be a very long time before I get my space back, but I promise, I am okay with that.

Isn't that the truth! No more privacy when using the bathroom...you have a little one waiting to flush the toilet for you and close the lid...but i love it. You are so right about just enjoying right now. You are good to recognize that. That picture of Emree is almost emotional...because it's so sweet and innocent. Take care and before you know it, we'll have 4 peas in a pod together:)
I know how you feel. But yes it is a great time to enjoy these kids cause they grow so fast. Hope you guys are doing well.
I have noticed since moving to Utah...how many young Moms are unhappy with being Moms! It is so sad. I loved being a mom. I loved my little ones...and I loved them as teenagers...and now I love them as adults too! If we really understood the the word "posterity" we would embrace these little ones & love every minute. You and your Mom are such good examples of LOVE...so proud of you Danielle!
Great post! Seriously. It's hard to remember what it was like when it was just me.
It was so much fun talking to you last night!
I love this. Sometimes we forget to take a timeout. Other times the best thing for us is a lack of space. It is so true how quikcly things change. I look back and miss every stage. Which means we only have more fun ahead of us!
I'm glad you share your space with me :)
This is a great thought/lesson. I needed to hear this today. We've been caught lately in the thought process of "well in a few years when we _____ then things will be better." It's not a good cycle. Here's to enjoying the moment!
Sweet post Danielle, very sweet!
Oh, I love Tyler's comment.
I love this post. You're right. The space will come and then you'll wish you had little bodies to fill it with again :) Each season is a great one if you remember to love it for what it is.
