Today It Was About Me

My poor hair. I think I have been to a salon two times in the last 5 years. I have been lucky enough to have wonderful family and friends as hair dressers for some of that time and still had fabulous hair, but lately it has been so scary. Kind of like two years lately. Pretty much since I moved to Sacramento lately. It was time to pay up. I know you all know how I feel. Your hair should really make you feel better about yourself... not worse. So, today I chopped most of it off. I also got my eyebrows waxed, bought hair products, some make-up and some earrings. I think my life is now complete for another 5 years. Whoop Whoop!

Scatterbrained Saturday:Worst Saturday Ever

1. Emree had a blister on her heel and wouldn't wear shoes
2. We went to figure out some stuff at the library and pick up my card that had gotten left there. Emree cried at the top of her lungs the whole time, and Jesse pulled down a bajillion books. Then I had to carry both of them to the car because Emree wouldn't walk and Jesse can't get down the massive stairs safely. It was awesome.
3. Jesse stomped over all the groceries in the back of the cart because Emree took the front seat. She was still crying over her foot. Smash there went my pizza, smash there went my icecream (staples when Dad is gone).
4. I stole popcorn from the grocery store (on accident), but I couldn't go back. I just couldn't... don't judge me.
5. The light flipped on in Jesse's room (it is weird and sometimes does that, but very rarely) and woke him up early from his nap. He was screaming and wouldn't go back to sleep.
6. Jesse slammed his fingers in the back door.
7. Jesse spilled the thumb tacks all over the floor and Emree stepped on one. It stabbed her toe.
8. Neither of my kids would eat dinner.
9. I had to make cookies for the church for Father's Day, I made them the wrong size. When I went to drop them off Jesse sat on a fruit snack in his car seat and it melted on to his bum. Which transfered to my arm. It was everywhere.
10. Emree would not get out of the bath and so I gave her one spank. I have never spanked either of my kids. I felt so bad. The guilt is killing me.
11. We went to target to get Emree some flip flops so that she would be able to walk in shoes tomorrow to church and she threw one of the hugest fits ever.
12. I put her to bed at 7:30 and it has now been an hour and a half and she is still awake.
13. Oh! I almost forgot. Jesse threw my phone in a bucket of water. I put it in rice and Emree dumped the rice all over the floor. It is still not working...
Some days being a mom is HARD.
Tomorrow it will be better... Tomorrow it can't be worse.

Wednesday Weaknesses: Forgetting

Sometimes I forget how important my relationship is with my Heavenly Father and how much he loves me... this post from Jane was such a gentle reminder.  I love the way she puts things. Please read if you need to remember that He is there and He cares.

Tuesday Terrors: How many Jesses does it take to unscrew a light bulb?

You know all those wonderfully cheesy jokes about unscrewing light bulbs. Well, How many Jesse's does it take...just one. One incredible talented and most definitely a trouble creator- Jesse.  About two weeks ago he took his night light and flipped off the plastic cover, unscrewed the bulb, and hid it somewhere. I searched high and low and I could not find it. I also got my keys hidden by him around that same day and we joked that they must be hiding together. I could NOT find them. I like to claim that I am fairly organized and that my house is pretty clean, but no keys and no light bulb claim other wise. Well, on Saturday Tyler bought a new bulb. This morning I found the plastic piece and the main portion of the night light thrown across Jesse's room. Anybody have a guess to where the bulb might be? What a stinker.

Monday Memories: Missing Jonah

We moved to Sacramento a little less then two years ago.  Tyler had met one family in our ward prior to coming and had even showered at their house when he came here to look for houses (because he slept in the car). I believe they were the first people I met too and we were so excited because their little boy was just 10 days younger then Emree. They were friends at first sight!

Jonah and Emree have played together constantly in the last two years and built such a cute little bond. Jonah's family is moving to Boston for a year and we have been in denial because we are going to miss them too much.

Thank you for your friendship, love, listening ears (we Andres talk a LOT), and help over the last two years. It is the start of a friendship that will last a lifetime!

Scatterbrained Saturday: Babies, Fruit Snacks and Hot Dogs.

Random Thoughts-

I love how much babies love babies. Jesse loves loves loves babies. He wishes he could have one with him all the time. The second he sees a baby he goes crazy telling me. He wants to sit down next to the poor thing and hug them, kiss, them poke their eyes. Oh it is pretty funny and the little girl or boy is so scared of him because he is not very soft. Although he is only 17 months old and the size of a 3 year old. Oh... what a funny kid.

Why do kids love fruit snacks so much. I wish I could do an experiment to see how many they would eat in a day, but they are too expensive to throw away frivolously.

Speaking of loving things... I never realized how much I liked hot dogs, but I do. Weird I know. I am eating one right now and enjoying every minute.

Friday Fun: Pink Sandals

"Can you grab your pink sandals to wear today?" I asked Emree while I tried to pull Jesse's shirt over his head as he squirmed.
"I love me pink sandals. 'Member how I should wear them to church."
"They aren't good church sandals Emree."
"Why?"she looked at me so completely puzzled.
"Because we dress our very best on Sunday and wear our nicest clothes."
"Why?"
"Because we want to look our very best for church, so we can show Jesus that we love him."
"I love Jesus, Mommy!" Emree runs across the room to give me a big hug. And then looks up at me with the cutest smile and says, "Mommy, Jesus loves my pink sandals. Jesus loves everyone."
It is only Friday, but I am pretty sure she will remember to wear those pink sandals on Sunday. But how do you say no to that.

Thursday Therapy: Babies and Kisses

Thursdays are all about the things that make me happy. I need a little happiness by Thursday. It has always been a long week and I usually want to pull my hair out because my kids are a little crazy, my house is a little crazy and there is so much I wish I would have accomplished. So, what makes me happy are these diaper legs, and baby kisses. Happy Thursday.

Wednesday Weaknesses: Chocolate

I love chocolate. Seriously, Seriously. So, when Ty told me the YM were going to make Chocolate Covered Strawberries for Mother's Day I knew I needed to help. I mean this was my definite area of expertise.  I could taste test all day. The fundraiser was super successful (I was good at my job) and Ty and the other leaders supervised everything else. Ok so I was not that helpful, but it was fun. The boys really stepped up and sold a lot of strawberries and dipped a lot of strawberries. Now the boys are counting down to Scout Camp.

Tuesday Terrors: Sucker

Every mother wishes their child would behave in that moment. The moment when other moms are watching. No, no they won't. That is exactly the moment they will misbehave. We had a lovely moment last week at the park. Emree's friend Sal had a sucker and Emree did not. Fits, Crying, Wailing, and yes I am her mother. That is when the other mother had to be so proud. Sal gave Emree the only sucker. I hope my child was grateful and didn't think "Yum, Sucker!"

Monday Memories: Train Museum

Another reason to come visit us in Sacramento!  I know you needed one. I thought this place would be a bust, but Jesse was in Heaven.  Trains everywhere and trains to play with. It was pretty cool! I know where we are taking my Dad next time he comes. It was seriously awesome and my few pictures do not do it justice...
One of the many train sets...
Conner stepping in for a closer look...

Ahh! The train is coming.

My very cute Jesse realizing that there is way more to life then tea parties and tutus.
